Satan's Master Plan - Pt.1

Part 2

2 Corinthians 2:11 ďLest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.Ē The main device that Satan uses against the church is unforgiveness. When you get into unforgiveness it will totally and completely paralyze your spiritual life. It will hinder your gifts from being received by the Lord and stop your prayers from being answered. It will hinder God from forgiving you and hinder your spiritual warfare.

That is very important. Many say that the enemy is coming against them and they rebuke him and he doesnít leave, they bind him but he doesnít stop and this goes on and on and there is no life in their prayer or evidence of answer to prayer, no power in their prayer or prayer for them. Individuals who are walking in unforgiveness, who hold strife and contention, do not get their prayers answered. That is the bottom line and it is scripture and you canít change it. We can disagree with someone or something but we can do so without having a bad spirit and being disagreeable in spirit.

The greatest tool of the enemy in the church is not adultery or drunkenness or lying or covetousness, though they may be in every church and are sin. But the number one problem is unforgiveness. It manifests itself in many forms and has many fruits or manifestations in the lives of those affected by it. People in the church are upset with someone in the church or with the pastor and they come and get prayed for and hands laid on them and anointed with oil and no matter what, they canít receive a blessing or be healed. There are all kinds of problems, confusion, division, disagreements, church split and more, all caused by unforgiveness. All that comes of anger, strife, bickering, slander, backbiting, tale bearing, and gossiping to lawsuits and divorce are anchored in a spirit of unforgiveness.

The second device is the strategies that Satan forms against you or your family. You may encounter something unexpected that surprises you Ė a child is taking drugs, a daughter is pregnant, your spouse has been unfaithful or is filing for divorce. These are major attacks and problems happening in families all across the US and other countries as well. But just because that attack manifested today, the plot and strategy for it may have been going on for several months or years.

Remember, when God wants to bless you, He will bring a person into your life that will be an asset and a blessing to you or your ministry. But when the enemy wants to hinder or destroy you he will do the same thing and bring someone into your life. So it is necessary to discern people. You need to know that when people come into your life and they develop a relationship with you through work or ministry that you understand that people, because they are human, have good days and have bad days. But when people have a true relationship with you they understand that and will not judge you because you go through a day in which you are having a problem and not your normal self possibly because of being under pressure. Many times under such times people will do or say something they donít really mean and will have to come and apologize for. You have to always be willing to apologize if you feel you did something wrong and donít wait for others to come to you because it will relieve you of the pressure and burden. Satan will even try to get good people to at times say things that are wrong, that are incorrect. It isnít always what you say, but how you say it. You have to understand that Satan can take someone who is a good person and speak something through them that will cause confusion and problems.

Remember when Jesus was trying to warn his disciples that he would have to be crucified and die and be raised again; Peter just got totally off and Jesus had to rebuke him in Matthew 16:23. ďBut he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men.Ē But just a few verses above, in Matthew 16:16-17 Peter had spoken a great revelation about Jesus. ďAnd Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.Ē What happened in between? After Jesus praised Peter, he then began to share about his suffering and it seems Peter thought he got another revelation. Matthew 16:22 ďThen Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee.Ē So this didnít happen because Peter was against the Lord or like Judas. The problem is that though he had just a few moments early spoken a revelation from the Father, he then is found speaking something that is totally opposite Godís will.

We are all human and capable of getting into our flesh. Itís easy to get sidetracked. And we have to understand that people will get upset, frustrated, discouraged, have times they donít feel good and we have to Ďmake room for their humanityí as Pastor Rajan used to tell me. In a relationship built out of love and truth there will be long-suffering and patience. The Lord knows our weaknesses, our strengths and our failures and He knows that sometimes we may do something stupid, but it isnít because we donít love him or love our brethren. We have to remember that we are all humans and no human is perfect. One problem is that many people enter into relationships, as marriage, with preconceived ideas and unrealistic expectations that just donít fit reality of the human life.

Lets get back to the basic thought. The real battle is against truth. Whenever the enemy is coming against you with a temptation or testing, what he is trying to do is seduce you away from the truth. The Bible speaks of seducing spirits in the last days (1 Timothy 4:1). A seducing spirit is literally a spirit of deception. The Greek word for seduce means to cause to wonder or to lead astray or to seduce. It is close to the Greek word for wondering, as wondering in the wilderness without knowing your direction. The seducing spirit makes the mind to wander. As your mind begins to wander you become confused with a spirit of confusion. How does a seducing spirit seduce. It seduces by causing the mind to wander.

We need to remember Isaiah 26:3. ďThou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.Ē If you will keep you mind on Him, He promises to give you perfect peace. In the Hebrew it says he will keep us in Shalom Shalom. Shalom is the Hebrew word for peace but in translating to English you cannot translate it peace-peace. It would look like a misprint. But what it says is that He will keep you in double peace. Now your brain has two hemispheres, the left and the right, which control different areas of the body and different senses. So God says that He will keep us in double peace, or surround us in peace so that both hemispheres of the mind will be in peace. The Hebrew Word for Ďstayí is like that of a pole of a tent where all the weight of the tent is on the pole. So as long as the pole is steady and stayed in the right position, it can hold the weight of the tent. If you keep your mind stayed, the word of God resting on your mind, then God will keep your mind in perfect peace because you, like a tent, are stayed upon Him. Philippians 4:8 ďFinally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things

Your depression comes when you get off center and start worrying about things. You can come to fear, which is worry in advance. Most fears are not based on fact, but possibilities or speculation of what might or could happen that has no merit. Seducing spirits put pressure on an individual to cause them to be deceived by causing the mind to wander from fact and truth. You will be thinking on something and all of a sudden a fiery dart comes into your mind and then another and you find yourself totally distracted and thinking on other things of the flesh. Testing and temptation are things that come against the mind Ė they are a pressure against the mind. That is what a seducing spirit does. It brings pressure against your mind to cause it to wander. You have to keep your mind stayed on God and on His Word to defeat the seducing spirit, which is attempting to pull you away from truth by attacking the truth and trying to get you into a half-truth, which is no truth.

Here is the danger. If a person yields to a seducing spirit and does it long enough, it will first come to distort truth, then pervert truth and destroy it. So today there are gay churches where homosexuals and lesbians go who claim to be Christian and they try to take scripture and prove that their lifestyle is okay before God. What happens is that their conscience becomes seared. 1 Timothy 4:1-2 ďNow the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron.Ē That searing of the conscience is connected to the seducing spirit. When the seducing spirit works against a persons mind, they begin to give into the seduction and lie and their mind becomes confused and they then get to where they justify the lie and the sin. The word conscience means† Ďto know with.í It is the part of the mind or soul that governs the knowledge that we receive in our life. The conscience is our ability to determine between what is right and wrong. This is a battle in the thought life. The word sear means to brand as with a cattle branding iron. Continual sin and disobedience to God brings a hardness in the persons conscience and they get to where they donít want to determine that something is right or wrong as if there are no absolutes. They start saying, ďwhatever religion you are is fine, there is no one way that is right or the only way, it doesnít matter if your are a Catholic or a Baptist or other. They all lead to God. There is no absolute right or wrong.Ē These are deceptions and the greatest danger. They are the end result of being deceived by a seducing spirit. The end result of Satanís Master Plan and deception against you is to cause your conscience to become seared to where you no longer are responding to the calling of the Holy Spirit.

Genesis 6:3a ďAnd the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man.Ē This is the truth. The Holy Spirit will come and convict you if you have done something wrong. You will feel a burden and uneasiness until you make it right. As long as you have this conviction of the spirit it shows that you have some kind of relationship with God. This is the first way that God chastises us and deals with us when we sin. He will let you know that your spirit is not right until you go back to the cross and repent. You donít get saved again, but go back to make your relationship right. With a true child of God, when you sin, you will be convicted and will feel miserable in your spirit and you need to be thankful for that. If you ever get to the point where you can sin and not be convicted by it, then sin has hardened your conscience and it has become seared and you are under the control of some form of seducing spirit. Your conscience is like an inner voice that speaks to you when you break Godís laws. Yet so many today can do horrible things and have no conscience or remorse. You have to be careful what you allow into your spirit.

The conscience can become seared by being overloaded with so many things coming at it. At first you will be convicted and bothered by things, but the more you do what you shouldnít, the more you become immune to it and the more you override conviction, which is very dangerous. When I first came into the church in 1967, they were so strict and believed in separation from all the things of the world because the church was concerned that they do nothing to displease the Lord and wrongly affect their walk with Him. As a result they were godly and holy and it could be seen in their life, their conversation and their actions. They were different and the world knew it. They stood out from the world. They were mockingly called holy rollers. Now you canít tell the church from the world and the world has no respect for the church but instead mocks the condition of the church, which has brought such a reproach against the Lord by becoming so like the world.

We have to understand that our flesh is evil by nature and is against the things of God. To live right and do right you have to separate yourself to God and not participate in the things of the world. To the world that will seem stupid but they canít understand the things of God anyway. So how do you keep your conscience from being seared? You have to learn to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit. You have to sanctify yourself from the filthiness of the flesh and spirit and perfect holiness in the sight of God. The more of God we want, the more of the world we will have to lay aside and the more of the flesh we have to lay aside. The more we want to get into Godís presence the more we have to separate from the world. Today many speak of wanting Godís glory to fall on them. If it did they would probably drop dead because you canít go into Godís presence with sin and get by with it. Just think of the High Priest going into the presence of God without first being cleansed.

To be free from things and from allowing our conscience to be seared, we have to be willing to lay aside anything the Holy Spirit deals with us about. If we donít, the very thing we donít lay aside could become a snare to us. God may even ask something of you or ask you to not do something that you see other Christians doing. Donít question the Holy Spirit and what He places in your heart. The other people are not your servant nor or you their, but the Lordís. We have to not look at others or what they do or seem to be allowed to do, but concern ourselves with what God wants for us. Some things others can do and it not be a problem could be something that could be a bondage to you. You are not the Lord and neither am I. You have to work out your own salvation with fear and trembling (Philippians 2:12). We each have a walk that is individual before the Lord. Some things that godly people can do, the Lord will not allow you. I am not talking about sin. Sin is sin to everyone. Yet there is a place where we have to walk by faith before the Lord for ourselves. We arenít to worry about what others think but what the Lord thinks. We donít worry about pleasing men, but the Lord. You might get laughed at or misunderstood because you wonít do what others do, but ignore them and do what the Lord wants you to do. Itís an individual thing and an individual walk before the Lord. He said, ďMy sheep hear my voiceÖ and they follow me (John 10:27).

A fourth area to deal with. When the enemy is coming against us, how do we expose the battle? One of the greatest ways to expose the attack of the enemy is to follow your burden and by praying in the Holy Spirit. When the enemy is coming against you or your family or whatever, you will feel something come on you and you have to be careful because you may think it is a depression but the Lord is trying to place a burden in your heart. When God places a burden in your spirit it is time to pray. A burden from God is a signal of two things Ė a signal of change because God is forewarning you that a major change is coming in your life, ministry or church or a signal to pray. Only when you are under a real burden to pray can you effectively pray long prayers. When you have a burden to pray you have a pressure in your spirit that will enable you to pray until the burden is released. The greatest way to expose the plan of the enemy is to expose it before it happens. Donít wait until the battle comes to be prepared for the battle. You can at times head off an attack of Satan by prayer. I am not talking about you knowing what to pray, but praying in the Spirit. The most effective praying when you are under a burden to pray and you donít know what is happening but feel something is wrong or about to happen is to pray in the Holy Spirit and allow Him to intercede for you and bring revelation to you and expose the attack before it comes like God did with Elijah. Some think you canít do anything about an attack of Satan, but that is not so. Even if you donít get a revelation of what it is about, you can pray until the burden lifts and you know God has somehow intervened in the situation by your praying in the Spirit.

God can supernaturally abort the plans of the enemy to attack you because of prayer. Prayer can nullify and render an attack useless.

From history we see a man that did that which is seemingly impossible. How and why was he able to accomplish what he did. I am talking about Alexander the Great who took over the world within 10 years of entering the military. He defeated an army of a million with some 40,000 troops and only lost about 500 men to the enemies thousands. How? He studied the opposition for their weakness. He looked for holes in their defense. He looked for a wall unguarded or any vulnerability of the army. Satan looks for the same thing in our lives, for holes in our defense or walls unguarded. We need to understand that at times there are weaknesses in the kingdom of Satan and capitalize on those weaknesses.

Second, when Alexanderís men were about to go into battle, he lightened their load before battle. They couldnít carry weapons and baggage, so he had them stop and remove all baggage before the war and had someone watch the baggage while the war was going on. His army was very light and quick on their feet versus the other armies.

Paul said, no soldier entangles himself with the affairs of this lifeÖ Lay aside every weight and the sin that so easily besets you (2Timothy 2:4, Hebrews 12:1). In this spiritual battle we have to lay aside the weight, the cares of this life and things that choke the word and cause you to become unfruitful. The apostles got too busy waiting on tables and so decided to appoint 7 men to do that so they could give themselves to prayer and the ministry of the word. If you get to busy then you need to lighten the load. We have to have time to be refreshed.

Third, Alexander fed his men well on the journey and prior to the war. It is impossible to fight a natural war without energy in the body and impossible to fight spiritual battles the same way. You can wear your physical body down until it affects your mind and spirit and the enemy can just eat you down. When the people had listened to Jesus 3 days without eating he didnít send them away without food because they would faint on the way. Elijah was fed by an angel, twice Ė supernaturally. When David was running from King Saul he stopped and ate the showbread from the tabernacle. When Jonathan got tired, he ate honey, not having heard his fatherís order. But the order was stupid to begin with. You canít fight without being fed physically and spiritually. So donít wait till you get in the war before you put the Word in you.

Fourth, Alexander allowed his men to rest. The Persians would march the men 14 hours and wear them down. Alexander would only move his men 7 miles in 4 days. He didnít wear them down before battle. There must be physical, spiritual and emotional rest before battle. Physical rest for the body, emotional rest for the mind, spiritual rest for the human spirit. You can be more effective when rested and not worn out, whatever your abilities are. Some donít need but 5 hours sleep and it isnít too much of a strain, but others need more. But whatever, you need time to be alone, time to relax and be refreshed that you are not continually in the battle. The reason you have to do that is that you will be prepared and strengthened to maintain until the end of the battle. Pray in the Holy Spirit, get in His presence and God will either expose the plan of Satan before it happens or the battle happens, God will show you the way of escape, the way out. So we need to pray in the Spirit on a consistent basis if we are going to overcome and be victorious over the wiles of the enemy.
