The latter rain precedes the return of God's Son,
He'll return for His sheep after saying “It is done”.
The early rain was poured out on the disciples of old,
while they waited in the upper room as told.
The story has been passed on down through the ages,
exactly as written in the Holy Word's pages.
Steadily God draws all who would hear,
revealing His undying love without coercion or fear.
None are neglected the opportunity is for all;
with a promise to save those answering His call.
The early rain gave power to those willing to serve;
God does so much more for us than we deserve.
We are not worthy to serve nor could we ever be,
yet God still loves every one of us so unconditionally.
He loves us and allows us to each have a part,
in sharing about salvation and how Jesus came into our heart.
Though we are saved imperfection is our plight,
only through the blood of Jesus do we bring God delight.
I know I'm not perfect I'm forgiven in Jesus' name,
I pray I'll be Blessed to take part in the latter rain.
