This will be my last message about the changes that began in 2008. 2008 was a year of new beginnings. It was also the end of one church age and the beginning of a new one. It was a time when God said, it is time for things to change, time for my kingdom church to arise and for that which is old and dead to pass away. What am I saying? 2008 was the birth of something new and beginning of the judgment and death of something old. I want to talk about where the church as a whole in America has been and the great transformation that has begun.
Ecc.3:1-8 “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: 2 time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; 3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; 4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; 5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; 6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; 7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; 8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.” God is causing both sides of these opposites to happen at the same time in the world of the church and of the nation. This is a season in which God is causing something old to be uprooted and something new to be planted, something old to die and something new to be born. He is plucking up the wild vines that produce wild grapes and is planting a new vine. He is breaking down old religious systems and structures of men and their kingdoms and in their place a new structure of His kingdom is arising. He is judging and tearing down many corrupt economic practices and men and raising up men with a vision for the kingdom, to use their resources for the purposes of God, a Joseph generation, not just in it for themselves.
God is changing the harvest fields and He is changing and transforming His people so that they will bring forth the fruit of the Spirit. God is changing our lives, our boundaries, our assignments and making everything new, for those who will walk with Him as part of His kingdom. Our methods are changing, our strategies are changing, our prayer life is changing, our focus is changing, for God is shaking this wicked world and tearing down many old corrupt systems that He can replace them. It is a process that will produce much hardships in the world, but it is necessary to remove that which is corrupt and evil.
The last day’s church was birthed in 2008. For years we had been going through a period of prosperity in which the church of America could be compared to the Laodicean church. It was a church full of wealth and excesses. A church that lost the vision of the kingdom of God and has been about building kingdom’s for the glory of men and personal wealth. But God is beginning to change all that and many church’s will fade away and their properties will be sold off to the highest bidder.
Change is by nature difficult because it takes us out of the familiar and comfortable and thrusts us into something new where there is the unknown and unsure and we have to walk by a new level of faith and trust in God because of the systems of the world that are collapsing around us and affecting every area of life. It was a real step of faith for Pastor Luis to take his current job, leaving that which he was familiar with and experienced in, to take on something new and different, and not just the work, but the working hours, and not knowing one week to the next where he might be or be doing. That is where the church is, and we are being thrust into the changes without knowing what we will face, only knowing that God is with us and is leading us.
Rev.3:14-22 describes the church of America, as it has been, because of the prosperity movement which became unbalanced and un-Biblical. “And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; 15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. 16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. 17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: 18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. 19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. 20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. 21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne. 22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.” This visible church in America is going to have big problems. This church will start fading away. The process has already begun. And in its place has begun a new church that will emerge. The difference is like that between a caterpillar and a butterfly. The caterpillar is earthbound, and it eats and conforms to the things of the earth. Its only purpose is to eat, it lives for self consumption.
The butterfly is able to fly and is not attached to the earth. But the greatest struggle of the butterfly is that time of breaking out and stretching its wings to fly the first time. If someone was to try and help the butterfly, by cutting open the cocoon the day of coming forth, so the butterfly can come out easier than required by nature, and this has been done to see what would happen, the butterfly will not be able to fly - for it won’t have the strength in its wings to do so. God has to put us through a process, to change us from being earth bound, to being able to rise above the things of this earth, to live as heavenly beings, no longer being conformed to the earthly, but being conformed to the heavenly. The beautiful butterfly now has one purpose in life, to reproduce. That is our purpose, to produce new disciples for the kingdom.
Rev 3:10 “Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.” Are you dwelling on the earth? This is talking about natural men and those who walk in the flesh as a part of this world. The people of God are not supposed to be dwelling on the earth, living as inhabitants of this world. We are to live as citizens of another kingdom, representing that kingdom here on the earth. We physically reside here, but we are not from here. What will happen to those who dwell on the earth in the days to come?
Rev 13:14 “And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.” They will be deceived by witchcraft. But where are the true people of God dwelling?
Eph 1:20 “Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,” Where is Christ seated? At the right hand of the Father, in heaven. Many times Jesus said He was “in the Father” and the “Father in Him” and in John 1:18 he said, “No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.” Now Jesus was physically on the earth and he could not physically be two places at once when He walked the earth as a man filled with the Holy Spirit. But He didn’t walk and think as just a man on the earth. He knew who He was and who He represented. The question is do we?
Eph 2:6 “And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:” Not some day in the future when we die. Not in eternity, but now. Not physically, but in the spirit, positionally we are seated with Christ above the things of this world, above the powers of darkness, to rule and reign in life, with Christ, through the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit. This is where the blessing and provision of God is.
Eph 1:3 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:” If you are seated with Christ in heavenly places, you are ruling and reigning with Christ - in this life, and He will cause you to take the land He has given you and fulfill your calling and purpose in life. The provision and blessing of Christ is not for the earthly minded being, but the one who is heavenly minded, who sees himself or herself as being seated with Christ in the heavenlies to reign in this life. In Romans 8:6, Paul said to be carnal or earthly minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
If we have been raised up to be seated with Christ and He is seated in the heavelies at the right hand of the Father, then where are the powers of hell in relation to us? Under your feet! I’m not talking about a religious hypocrite or someone who thinks they can confess it and possess it, just because they say the right things, regardless of the lifestyle they live, even if they are walking in disobedience to His word. I am talking about disciples, true believers who are walking in obedience and covenant with the Lord. What is His word to us?
Matt.16:19 “And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” Luke 10:19 “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” Rom.16:20 “And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly...” Our Lord has not left us like sitting ducks before an enemy that is hunting us. He has given us the authority to go on the offensive against the enemy.
Rev.5:9-10 “And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; 10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.” He has already done this. We have been redeemed by the blood, people of many nations, and we are called to reign in life as priests and kings unto our God. We are not hopeless or helpless.
Rev 11:15 “And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.” God is now preparing and has begun the work that will bring this about. It is a process that will take time and not something instant, but it will come to pass..
It is time to obey Romans 12:1-2. “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” The Greek word for transformed is metamorphoō which is the same word used for the metamorphosis of the butterfly so that it is born again and able to fly.
Why it is necessary for God to remove the old church and ways of religion and bring in the new - can be seen in a vision. In this vision there was a woman, representing the church today, and she was totally covered with cancer all over her body. There was no part of her body that was whole or pure and unaffected by the cancer. The Lord said he would have to operate to remove the cancer. As he began to operate with his scalpel, gently cutting away the cancers from her body, though it was painful, he was very careful to only cut that which was necessary, to fully remove the cancerous growths without taking any of the remaining healthy tissue.
It was hard and painful for the woman, but she came through the surgery, she lived and recovered to be a beautiful woman once again. That is what God is doing in the church today. When God has completed the work and the old Laodicean church has been removed, the world will see a different church, an 8th church not shown in the 2nd and 3rd chapters of Revelation. Those seven churches were representative of the churches through the ages since Christ. But, now a new one is beginning to emerge on the scene.
(SP ONLY)Rev.21:2-9 “And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. 4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. 5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. 6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. 7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. 8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. 9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.” We are part of that holy city, the New Jerusalem. When you came to Jesus you became a part of it.
Heb 12:22-24 “But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, 23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, 24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.”
Declaration: Job 22:28 “Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways.” Lord, we decree that we are a new church made of new wineskins, and we are receiving the new move of your spirit that we might become a part of this glorious church, that is coming down from heaven to earth. We decree that we are receiving your new life, new revelation, new understanding, & new knowledge, of what you are doing in the earth today. We are coming into line with your will and purposes for our lives, so that we may fulfill your calling. We refuse to remain earth bound by old ways of thinking, and speaking. No more living like a caterpillar. We receive your wisdom, anointing and grace, that is coming from your throne, that we might be transformed into a glorious and beautiful bride. We will be kingdom minded people and we will represent your kingdom here on earth, and walk as sons and daughters of the king. We decree new breakthroughs in our life. In Jesus name.
